GRADUATION OUTFIT POST!

These are some weird photos but I didn’t take specific ones of my clothes so this is all I’ve got!

The first dress was actually my second graduation dress, the one I changed into for our reception.  I love how supercute it is with a flattering A-line and some pleating detail at the top.  It was bought on a ridiculously awesome clearance price at JCPenny.  I believe the shrug was from Ross Dress For Less but I could be completely wrong.  Graduation button is from Dollar Tree!

The second was the one I actually wore under my robe because I anticipated it being a bit warm.   It’s a short flower print dress with a empire waist and spaghetti straps bought at Ross Dress For Less.  Conveniently it will double as a fun sundress for summer!  My shoes are the strangest but cutest 70’s-style salmon colored platform heels from a thrift store called Granny Longlegs.  I have REALLY big feet so i’m obsessed with buying every pair of heels in my size that I find, these were an impulse buy for $7 a few years back.

Soooooo sorry for the long hiatus!  A lot has happened, I finished spring semester and GRADUATED COLLEGE!  Crazy!

Life has slowed down a bit and it is summery outside.  This is an outfit from a few months back that I forgot to post, but soon I should be posting more warm-weather outfits!

Dress and my new favorite navy patterned tights (SO soft and also warm!)  are from Target.  Faux combat boots and blue zebra sweater are also Target.  I love wearing sweaters to make a dress with a lower neckline more demure, and its an additional way to define or spice up an outfit if you’re bored of belts.

Necklace was a gift but is also most likely Target, my friends know where I shop! Bow is from a cute thrift store in my hometown called Secondhand Rose.

Alright guys I hope I can get back to at least a once-a-week posting schedule, thanks for staying with my blog and feel free to pester we with messages if I fall off the face of the earth again!  

Some Part-of-Your-World Realness.

I totally dressed up as Ariel on purpose.  I just dyed my hair and it’s super bright red so why not?  I’m wearing a green ruffled dress from Target and a grey bolero from Macy’s. Shoes, tights, and belt also from Target.

The seahorse necklace I got at a sale at Icing for $2!  I made the starfish  barrette myself.  I get a lot of weird looks on campus when I wear it but those people are usually dressed horribly so I ain’t even mad.

Cosmic Cats!

This is my new Favorite Shirt Ever, combining three things I love: cats, stars, and lasers.  It’s from threadless, I swiped a ton of shirts on sale for $10 a few months back.  I paired it with a plaid skirt I thrifted and hemmed.  I work in the turquoise-purple color family a lot so I try to get separates that hi-light those colors.  

Purple wide belt was a gift, and my boots and grey tights are from Target.  These boots are AMAZING, so comfy and they’re much better quality than some boots I’ve previously bought, really sturdy soles great for my town’s unpredictable weather.  I got them on sale (of course) and my only complaint is that if I’m walking really fast sometimes the zipper slides down.

Double your pleasure, double your plaid!

I love mixing and matching patterns, I like my clothes to be as LOUD as possible.  Here I’m wearing three different prints and I love it.  Never be afraid to mix and match and just have fun with your clothes!

Wearing my sister’s old Catholic school kilt with some brown tights (Target) and a purple leopard print tank top (unknown origin).  Finished it off with a contrasting plaid cardigan (Target), a black bow (Claire’s) and some black canvas boots (Target).

The necklace is a quartz crystal I tied to a chain from Luray Caverns, which is an amazing place to visit if you’ve never been!

Today I was definitely repping some Amber from Clueless ’WHATEVERRR’ Realness.

Featuring the ever-present winter staple: my fuzzy jacket from Ross.  Combined with a zebra print Goodwill find and a purple belt I got this Christmas I was feeling totally 90’s.

I wish I could say I was wearing fluffy pink platform shoes but I went with my combat boots (Target) because this is a shorrttttttt dress and when I wear such tiny skirts I tend to wear shoes with more coverage.

As far as accessories- I have on a my cherry headband and my clear heart necklace, both from Claire’s/Icing.

Sunny Day Realness.

I got this little yellow dress a few weeks ago but hadn’t had a chance to christen it yet so I wore it Christmas shopping.  It’s got pockets and is actually a yellow lace overlay on a yellow base dress.  Of course it’s from Target!

Fuzzy jacket from Ross, belt from Rugged Warehouse, and heart necklace from Claire’s.  Fuchsia tights and flower print boot-shoes are also from Target.  Hair bow from Dollar Tree.

SO SORRY for the long hiatus.

End of semester always gets pretty crazy and I completely forgot to record or post any outfits in months.  I’m on winter break now so I’ll be queuing a couple of outfits I did manage to snap some photos of!

First up is an outfit from finals week-

Rhapsody in Blues:

Zebra print sweater, navy patterned tights, blue and cream dress, and belt are all from Target.  I love these textured tights and the dress is really soft and comfy. Shoes (that you can barely see) are from Rugged Warehouse.  Necklace is a quartz crystal that was a gift and my bow is from Dollar Tree.  I bought about four of these bows in different colors, I love finding a good hair bow for so cheap!

This is actually an outfit I forgot to post from late October!

I’m wearing a black skirt from Old Navy that my older sister bought for teaching but it didn’t fit so it was handed-down to me.  The top I believe I got at Target but I could be wrong, I think I bought it over three years ago.  The tights, however, are definitely Target and the scarf is from Canal Street in NYC.  The spider hair piece is from Michael’s.

This fuzzy jacket is my new favorite thing ever.  I picked it up at Ross for my Halloween costume of Luna from Sailor Moon and it is now my favorite winter accessory.  It feels AMAZINGLY SOFT and when I wear it I just keep petting myself all day.

Today I am wearing my new favorite dress bought on clearance- guess where- Target!  I love the heart pattern and the very full skirt plus sweetheart neckline.  It would only be slightly better if it had pockets, but I just can’t have ALL my sundresses with pockets now can I?

Worn with my traditional grey print bolero from Macy’s and a sturdy pair of grey tights from Target.  Red skinny belt also from Target, I think I bought it to be worn with some low-rise pants (back when I wore pants) so I had to add some more  holes to be able to wear it at my waist.  Necklace from Icing and hair bow from Secondhand Rose.

This outfit is from last week.  We had just watched Halloweentown the night before so I was feeling especially inspired by their colorful take on witches robes.  I went for a Halloween-y look with a black dress, orange tights, and a colorful pashmina scarf.

Dress found at Rugged Warehouse, tights from Target, and the shawl was bought on  Canal Street in NYC.

Necklace is from my father and the bow is from Claire’s. Glow-in-the-dark bat earrings are from Wal-Mart.

So sorry for the unexpected hiatus!

I’m about to queue a few outfits I took photos of but never uploaded, and here’s the first:

Purple everything!  Purple is my favorite color so I have a TON of it.  Skirt from Goodwill; tights, belt, and sweater from Target; and top from Macy’s.

The bird hair clip was a dollar from Michael’s.

Middle of my fraternity’s Rush Week and I’m sporting some Oompa Loompa Realness.

These are our 2012 rush shirts, the theme for this rush is Superhero artists and I think this Super Van Gogh is adorable. Plus I love the color which is ‘cranberry’.

Paired with a purple Goodwill find and white suspenders from Glen’s Fair Price downtown.  The shoes are my favorite new slippers from Target.

My necklace is a quartz crystal given to me by my father.  My hair item is from Claire’s, originally bought for my sister’s wedding, and the glittery fake tattoo on my wrist is from my place of employment, a local Dollar Tree.

Today starts rush week for my honors art fraternity so I’m planning to rock a different Kappa Pi shirt every day.  Today’s pick is my favorite set of letters from my big!  She got me spot-on, they’re turquoise and covered with black lace.

Paired with my modded skirt from Goodwill, my trusty Target belt and favorite fuchsia tights, extra thick for the 30-degree drop in temperature we’ve had in the past two days.  I threw on these slightly-busted Rugged Warehouse boots because they’re warm and fuzzy inside and I needed something comfy to walk around campus in.

My favorite piece on this outfit, however, is the spider-in-a-web glittery hair clip from Michael’s that I’m wearing.  I believe is supposed to just be a decoration but it has an alligator clasp on the back so I bought it solely as a hair item.  An employee on at a campus dining location freaked out about it because she’s terrified of spiders, so I like to think I’m spreading the ~*~spooky Halloween spirit~*~

I’m also sporting a new berry lip stain by New York Color, I had a coupon and got it for $3!
